at about 2:10 am the fire alarm went off here in my dorm building.

Those things are so piercingly loud... creepy automated man in the speakers telling us that there has been a fire and we need to evacuate the building. It was a funny sight: a herd of mumbling, sleepy, confused, half naked college kids waddling down the hall towards the stairs in jackets and blankets and hopefully shoes. I'm on the fifth floor so that was quite fun... It was freezing and misting out and I was shivering like mad. Thus, madness ensued. Then they let us go into the student union building and chill after the firetrucks came and we were all blinded by the lights after already being deafened by the fire alarm. No one was sure of what was going on yet so we just sat around conjecturing and i bit my fingernails off fretting the loss of my all my pictures and data if the sprinklers were to go off and ruin my electronics. Half an hour later they announced that it would be a couple hours or so before we can go back in because they have to empty the water from the building. E. Gad. All seemed hopeless until a random group of people spontaneously broke out in song. This song happened to be Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. It was extremely amusing and I would have given them a giant cookie if I had one. After that, time passed slowed, and at 4:30 am the powers that be came and told us we could go back in our building now.

Turns out the fire was on the sixth floor and was (from what I've heard) caused by someone smoking in the lounge, setting off the fire alarm and then dropping their cigarette and running, creating an actual fire in the process. The sprinklers were set off in all of the lounge areas on every floor. This is also by our elevators, which, subsequently, are now out of service for who knows how long. Luckily the sprinklers did not go off in most people's room, including mine. However, next time I am going to grab my external hard drive and run for my life. ಠ_ಠ

Also, school is going well, I dyed my hair black, and I've been seriously deprived of taking photos lately, which results in some rather odd and twitchy withdrawal symptoms.

a daily deviation! wow. this is really quite surprizing and crazy and awesome and i'm still staring at the screen in disbelief. this is probably the best Christmas present i've ever gotten. still can't believe it. here's the said deviation:

two exams down, two to go. my first semester of college has galloped past me towards the sunset, as did november, as did this whole year basically. good times... strange times... may i ask what is going on here? yes, well, below you will find yellow(ish) art, and for absolutely no reason whatsoever! by the way, if you have yellow art that you would like to see featured, click on the appropriate link below

what else to say. i dunno, i'm kinda sleepy. went running this morning for 30 minutes. i should be energized but i'm not. weird. besides the fact that i have reached a whole new level of crazy recently and am too confused to make words about it i'm doing quite well. haven't gotten too fat this first semester of college (yet).

i don't wanna do all my homework. therefore i waste an hour by putting together the second installment of my ongoing "green" feature. yes i am cheap enough to fill in a gap with my own photo.

i moved into my dorm yesterday. well, friday... it's late.

but now i don't have my laptop's power cord.

I kind of messed up my camera.

We were on vacation in florida and we got back to the hotel late after my cousin's birthday party. And i was holding Albus (my camera) and then somehow it just slipped out of my hand and onto the floor. I freaked out and hurridly checked out the hardware to make sure everything still worked. And it seemed fine. Except i didn't take any pictures... until two days later, and much to my dismay i found that the sensor had shifted. So what i see on the preview screen or in the ovf is way off from what the picture actually comes out to be.... yes it can be fixed but the camera place we go to is so busy that Albus won't be ready for a few weeks. So until then, I don't know what i'm going to do!!! maybe get back to drawing more in the mean time, i dunno; maybe it'll be good for me.

I bought it last month on the 7th using PayPal... and that was the problem. PayPal didn't notify dA of the transaction so never went through and in the end it had to be looked up manually. But anyways, all is well and I'm looking forward to the many features I'll have coming up. Including the new one here! :]
